I used oil pastels to create a stop-motion animation of a butterfly poem.
The stop motion film is based on a theme, the cycle of life. For the stop-motion animation, I created paper cut-out characters and drew a oil pastel on an acetate sheet to animate the fish.
I created a colored pencil animation to visually show the line, “Sunset is like the invitation of a sleepy woman’s eyes,” performed by a deaf poet, Debbie Rennie.
Peter Cook, a deaf poet, played with the number signs for 1 and 5 to create a short ASL poem, “A tree. A leaf.” I created a stop motion cut-out animation of it.
