Community Murals

Hands Together, We Soar Mural

The mural, Hands Together, We Soar, was painted at the Deaf Asian Street Festival, hosted by Metropolitan Asian Deaf Association (MADA), inviting the community to contribute their ideas, cultural elements, and skills. Empowering the diverse deaf community, the mural represents connections, building bridges, and the spirit of unity. The dragon with hands as fins and the characters displaying the signs of “Asian” and “Deaf” convey the importance and value of sign language. The mural is a meaningful way to honor the Asian Deaf community, to celebrate and advocate for our languages and cultures, and to communicate that we belong here.

It is expected to be installed at Kendall Demonstration Elementary School in Washington, DC.

Diversity Mural at the New York School for the Deaf

I was an artist-in-residence at the New York School for the Deaf (as known as Fanwood), collaborating with the certified art teacher and deaf students to paint a mural that embodies the diversity of Fanwood.
