For saying I do not trust you

For being an Asian American woman.

I’m sorry (not sorry)

For standing up

For setting boundaries

For resisting

I’m sorry (not sorry)

For being a strong woman

For deciding to stay

For protecting myself

I’m sorry (not sorry)

For making you mad

For fighting back

For saying no

I’m sorry (not sorry)

For saying goodbye to people

Who dismiss everything I say

For not being your model minority.

A World of Wonders

Let’s enter a new world of wonders

Flashback will never escape

Breaking free from shame

The old brunch days

Morning sun on the porch

Your luscious lips nibbling

Flowers frozen in time

My hands are still talking loudly

You push my buttons
